Neelathamara Review

Neelathamara

Saw Neelathamara from Padma theatre, Cochin. Here is a short review of Neelathaamara.

The movie is OK and is a one time watch. I was actually disappointed. May be i expected more. There was something missing in the movie. Neelathaamra may turn out to be a hit (if its damn lucky), but not a super hit.

Neelathamara is just around 1 hour 45 minutes. Was really shocked when the interval came just after 45 minutes.

Another shocker – “Neelathaamaree” song is just a title song. They could have included that in the story line. I was waiting to see the song in the movie since Lal Jose is really good in picturising songs.

Story
There is nothing much in the story. Simple, short and good.

Actors
Archana Kavi, the lead actress in Neelathamara is promising. I am sure she will make it big in Malayalam film industry. She has got cute smile and a nice face. And the acting is also good. Good choice Lal Jose.

Kailash is a also a good actor. He reminds us of an yesteryear Malayalam actor Mohan.

Samvritha and Rima have also done their part well. It was nice to see Rima in a simple attire.

Direction
As usual Lal Jose has done a wonderful job here. Song picturisation is typical Lal Jose style. In my opinion Priyadarshan and Lal Jose are the best in Malayalam when it comes to directing songs.

Cinematography
Cinematography by Vijay Ulagantha is simply awesome. The frames are very beautiful and suits the mood of the film. Shots and lighting in night were of excellent quality.

Songs
Vidyasagar – Lal Jose team strikes again. “Neelathamaree” and “Anuraga” songs are really good and are already hits.

Lal Jose could have selected another good background song for the most important part of the movie. :)

And there are only two comedy scenes in the movie. :)

The film ends with an abrupt climax which gives a negative viewing experience for the user. And i cant think of any other climax for the movie.

My Rating - 5.5 / 10

Neelathamara Poster

I was really happy after watching the movie coz I was able to see Samvritha Sunil and Archana Kavi. They had come to see the movie in Padma theatre. Archana is more beautiful in real than in Neelathamara.
