Sufi Paranja Katha – A short review
Saw award winning director Priyanandan’s Sufi Paranja Katha from PVR. The movie is an adaptation of a novel by KP Ramanunni.
First of all, congrats to Priyanandan for making the right choice in casting Sharbhani Mukerji and Prakash Bare as the lead pair.
The highlight of the movie is Sharbhani Mukerji. She looks gorgeous, sensuous, and divine. Without her, the film would not have materialized. She has a divine aura around her face in the first half. അവളുടെ കണ്ണുകളും നോട്ടവും നമ്മുടെ മനസ്സില് നിന്ന് മായില്ല.
Sufi Paranja Katha is a period film. The set was good. The dialogues are excellent.
The cinematography in the first half is good. നാലുകെട്ടും കുളവും പുഴയും നിലവിളക്കിന്റെ വെളിച്ചവും എല്ലാം നമ്മുടെ മനസ്സില് തങ്ങി നില്ക്കും.
First half of the movie is superb and the interval scene is shot beautifully. The second half is slow and a little boring. And after watching the movie, there will be some doubts in the viewer’s mind. The director could have explained some scenes without confusing the viewers.
Because of its bold theme, the movie is not advisable for kids.
